TiviMate is a favorite among IPTV users because it looks and feels like a real cable-TV guide. It's designed for TV screens with a remote, and it handles large channel lists smoothly. Like every player, it doesn't come with channels—you add your own subscription.
Which devices can run TiviMate?
TiviMate is built for Android TV and Google TV devices: Android TV boxes, Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, Sony/TCL/Hisense TVs running Google TV, and many Android-based boxes. It also runs on Amazon Fire TV devices, although the installation method there depends on your model—see our Firestick guide.
TiviMate is not available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Samsung (Tizen) or LG (webOS) TVs. For those, see our guide to IPTV apps for iPhone and Apple TV or use IPTV Smarters.
TiviMate free vs TiviMate Premium
The free version lets you add a playlist and watch. TiviMate Premium is a paid upgrade sold by the app's developer through the TiviMate Companion app. Prices are set by the developer and can change.
| Feature | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Add a playlist and watch live TV | Yes | Yes |
| TV guide (EPG) | Yes | Yes |
| Multiple playlists | No | Yes |
| Favorites and channel management | Limited | Yes |
| Catch-up and recording | No | Yes (if your provider supports it) |
| Multi-view (several channels at once) | No | Yes |
Start with the free version. If you love it, Premium is worth considering—but it's optional.
Step 1: Install TiviMate
On Android TV or Google TV, open the Google Play Store, search for "TiviMate IPTV Player" and install it (here is the official Google Play listing). Check the developer name to avoid copycats.
Step 2: Add your playlist
- Open TiviMate and select Add playlist.
- Choose the type that matches the details we sent you:
- Xtream Codes login – enter server address, username and password (recommended).
- M3U playlist – enter the playlist URL.
- Select Next. TiviMate checks the details and shows how many channels, movies and series it found.
- Give the playlist a name and select Done.
Step 3: Set up the TV guide
With an Xtream login, TiviMate normally fetches the guide automatically. If it's empty:
- Go to Settings → EPG.
- Check an EPG source is listed; if we've sent you a separate EPG link, add it here.
- Select Update EPG and wait a few minutes.
- Check Settings → EPG → Time shift if program times look off by a few hours.
Best TiviMate settings for smooth playback
- Settings → Playback → Buffer size: set to Medium or Large if you get small freezes.
- Settings → Playback → AFR (auto frame rate): turn on for smoother sports if your TV supports it.
- Settings → Playlists → Update playlist on app start: keep on so new channels appear automatically.
- Hide categories you never watch: long-press a group and choose Hide. Your guide becomes much easier to browse.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Authorization failed" | Re-enter username and password exactly; confirm your plan is active. |
| Playlist loads 0 channels | Check the server URL and port; try the M3U link instead to confirm the account works. |
| Channels buffer | Use Ethernet, raise buffer size, restart the router. Test at different times of day. |
| Guide shows "No information" | Update EPG, check time shift, and confirm those channels have guide data. |
