Step 1: Install a player
Open the Google Play Store on the Shield and install your player. Most Shield owners choose TiviMate; IPTV Smarters, OTT Navigator and XCIPTV also work well.
Step 2: Add your subscription
In the player, choose Xtream Codes and enter the server, username and password we send you (or paste your M3U link). Let the channels and TV guide load fully the first time.
Step 3: Best Shield settings for IPTV
- Use Ethernet: plug a cable into the Shield's port. It's the best buffering fix there is.
- AI-Enhanced upscaling: Settings → Device Preferences → Display & Sound → AI upscaling. Try "AI-Enhanced" with detail "Medium" for HD channels on a 4K TV.
- Match frame rate: Settings → Device Preferences → Display & Sound → Advanced → Match content frame rate → "Seamless only" or "Always". Smoother motion for sports.
- Resolution: set to your TV's native resolution (usually 4K 59.940 Hz in the US).
- In TiviMate: Settings → Playback → enable AFR for live channels.
Recording with Shield TV Pro
